We adopted that mission statement in 2014, and at first glance, it may seem odd that “health insurance” isn’t mentioned. But the words of our mission statement were very purposefully chosen, as the scope of our mission extends far beyond processing health insurance claims. The company’s mission is a promise to all North Carolinians that we will work to make our state a better place to live – and create an example of how businesses can foster a culture of caring, commitment, collaboration and creativity as true community partners.
During November – the Month of Thanks – BCBSNC is honoring “Community Champions,” North Carolinians who have embraced the obligation we all share to improve life for everyone in our state. In addition to highlighting their own commitment to volunteerism, we will also be donating $5,000 to each of the Community Champions’ chosen causes.
We’re so inspired by these Community Champions and by all those across our state who give so generously to serve others. We hope you enjoy learning about the causes they support and are motivated to join the ranks of Community Champions by volunteering for a cause that’s meaningful to you during this season of thankfulness.
