A Special  Message From Brad Wilson, CEO of BCBSNC

Hi, I’m Brad Wilson, CEO of BCBSNC.

Since October 1st, problems with the government Exchange created under the Affordable Care Act have made it difficult to sign up for a health plan.

Unfortunately, the problems in Washington have made it hard for us in North Carolina to enroll customers and issue membership cards. Many are frustrated as they wait to speak with someone who can help.

This is unacceptable.

In response, we are:

  • Postponing the payment deadline for individual ACA plans to January 24th
  • Expanding our call center hours and staff
  • Working around the clock to process enrollments as we receive them from the government

Our 4,000 employees are working tirelessly to meet customers’ needs, and we are printing and mailing membership cards every day.

We appreciate your patience and will keep you informed of any changes as we learn about them.

If you need to speak to customer support, there are two options. Setup an appointment in one of our retail stores or call customer service. It’s important to use the number listed on the back of your insurance card. If you don’t have an insurance card, please call 1-800-446-8053.
